The Phillips Collection, at 1600 21st Street NW in Dupont Circle, is Washington’s first museum of modern art and one of the city’s most intimate gala settings. Events take place in the 1897 Phillips House—especially the oak-paneled Music Room—and in the Goh Annex and Sant Building galleries, including the Rothko Room context and the Mansbach Auditorium.

Event Spaces We Photograph
Phillips House — Music Room, dining room, and parlors
The heart of most dinners and receptions. Current museum planning ranges are about 60 seated or 250 standing in the house. The Music Room is the photograph everyone expects; the parlors are where conversations actually happen.
Goh Annex and Sant Building
Galleries and the Gwendolyn & Morris Cafritz Gallery for standing receptions (about 150 in the Cafritz Gallery). Seated dinners are limited in some annex configurations—confirm with the museum.
Hunter Courtyard / café terrace
Seasonal add-on, weather permitting. Older packets cite about 80 seated or 200 standing for café and courtyard combined.
Mansbach Auditorium and lower-level rooms
About 180 seated for lectures and programs; reception area and Sant Seminar Room for meetings and pre-function.
Events generally end by 10:00 p.m., with guests cleared by 10:30. Availability follows the exhibition calendar and public hours.
