Tents are not just for the adventure seekers. If you landed on a location to host your next big event but need to make your own customized space, these versatile coverings easily transform any area into a glamorous event…here’s one of our favorites from 2019.
Recently, The Inn at Little Washington held their 40th Anniversary Party at Mount Vernon. The historic property features gorgeous backdrops and home filled with rich history, but they wanted to add a sophisticated touch of elegance to their celebration on the lawn.
So, they rented a tent and designed their own venue within the venue. The Design Foundry crew did a phenomenal job (as usual) at going beyond the tent. In fact, once everything was set up, you wouldn’t even know you were in a tent.
A fun black and white checkered floor formed the base of it all. Round tables with place settings featuring plates with air balloons and vintage wax-sealed scrolls came next. Hundreds of candles glowed inside verdant chandeliers of flowing greenery.
Then, to top it off, they designed a large stage front and center. If the theme had a name, “Up Up & Away” would be fitting; the stage backdrop featured blue skies, fluffy clouds, and an air balloon with important figures waving hello. The personalized art was as the logo for the event was a beautiful touch. Each piece represented a different part of their story over the past 40 years.
One of the best things about utilizing a tent is that you can host an outdoor event almost any time of year. This tent came with an air conditioning unit to keep guests comfortable at all times, and just outside the entrance, they could enjoy the expansive views of the estate. With tents, you can have your cake and eat it, too!
