Have you ever heard the phrase, “fail to plan, plan to fail”? Nothing could be more true when planning, and coordinating any sort of event. After 27+ years of experience as an event photographer, I’ve seen my fair share of well, and not so well, planned events. The main consistency I’ve seen in well-planned occasions is the proper use or organization and timelines.

A Realistic Timeline is a Successful Timeline

From a conference hosting 20,000+ to your child’s next birthday party…every event should have some sort of timeline. A proper timeline not only keeps you and your event on the track, it allows your guests the comfort of being informed on the ongoings of the day. When it comes to a large scale event, you might enlist the help of an event planner to help you coordinate a realistic timeline. Always remember, a realistic timeline is a successful timeline.

All my fellow Type-A friends out there know how deviating from an organized timeline can cause all sorts of issues. The least of which is a lost sense of control. The last thing you need after months of endless planning is for some unforeseen snaffoo throwing the entire evening off track. Fail to plan, plan to fail. It’s that simple!!
